Suspended Line

Summer 2024 update: hydrofoil trips between Corfu and Himare are suspended for the time being. As an alternative we propose Corfu Saranda.

Once you arrive at the port of Saranda, you can easily reach Himare by car or by bus via the SH8, direction Vlora. Arrived at Qeparo, halfway road between Saranda and Vlora, continue along the SH8 in the direction of the sea, while those continuing on to Vlora will have to take the SH76.

The coast road to Himare is full of hairpin bends and sheer headlands that offer the traveller spectacular views. One encounters picturesque villages and paradisiacal beaches, intimate coves and gorges formed by the splitting of rocks, which hold small coves far from inhabited centres and some accessible only by sea.

From where you take the ferry from Corfu to Himare

Ferries from Corfu to Albania, Saranda or Himare, depart from the port of Corfu, a short distance from the city centre, and more precisely from the Non-Schengen International Departure Terminal.

After checking in at the port offices of the shipping company, travellers have to go through a document check at the Border Police gate. They then reach the pier where the Corfu Himare ferry or catamaran is berthed and follow the instructions of the staff boarding the ship.

Catamarans and ferries departing from Corfu in the direction of Himare have a limited number of accommodations on board due to the short journey. Passengers choose between the standard armchair e business armchair, with a slight difference of 8 euros between the two rates.

The two accommodations provide numbered seating in the air-conditioned lounges inside the ship. During the crossing, it is permitted to go out on the small, narrow, open deck for a stroll or to enjoy cool drinks and snacks at the refreshment area set up in the outdoor spaces.
